Artist in Residence 

Ballet BC has created a new position of Artist in Residence (AIR) to help nurture a former company member in their transition towards an independent dance career. In this role Ballet BC will help support a dancer with professional development opportunities in the fields of choreography, artistic leadership, rehearsal directing and teaching. As well the AIR will interact with the artists and staff of Ballet BC through the sharing of their creative processes and in involving the company in showings, artist talks and information about their upcoming shows.  

The presence and expertise of the AIR will be valued in the company as we create a collaborative environment for dialogue, exchange and feedback of creative ideas to better understand the future of dance and the role of the artist in society today. 

This season Ballet BC is very excited to announce Simone Orlando as our 2009-2010 AIR.
