This season, Ballet British Columbia’s Kids’ Club offers exciting opportunities to learn more about the music and movement of ballet.  Suggested age for Kids’ Club members is 6-11 years.

Ballet and the Music of the Four Seasons

Music plays an important role in all ballet.  Explore the connection between music and ballet in a workshop inspired by Ballet BC’s world premiere production of John Alleyne’s Four Season.  We’ll discover the music by Vivaldi with a special guest.  Kids’ Club members will learn about what it’s like to dance to musical accompaniment as everyone works together to create a dance inspired by the seasons.

Peter Pan and The Stories of Ballet

In April 2008 Ballet BC dancers will present Peter Pan, one of the all-time classic fairy tales.  This is just one of many wonderful stories we can tell through dance and ballet. Join us as we take part in dance and craft activities that explore storytelling in ballet.  Kids’ Club members will learn how to use ballet mime to tell their own stories though dance.  Get ready to be Wendy, Peter Pan, or Tinkerbell for a day and use the magic of dance to tell your own story.

Ballet BC is proud to present the Moscow Classical Ballet’s Nutcracker.  Come meet the dancers and enjoy treats and refreshments before the December 31st matinee performance.  For tickets, call 604.732.5003 ext 207.

Your child can participate in all three workshops for $25. Or, you can register your child for one activity for a fee of $10. Please note that Kids’ Club registration fee does not include tickets to ballet performances.
