Position Title: Executive Director

Direct Reports: Controller, Director of Development, Director of Production and Operations, Director of Sales of Marketing, Artistic Administrator

Background:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director uses exemplary leadership, management and team-building skills to provide strategic, fundraising and financial direction to Ballet BC by building and managing the commercial success and day-to-day operations of the Company, in keeping with the mission, objectives and policies established by the Board of Directors and the senior administrative staff.

Building on Ballet BC’s strong brand and significant critical acclaim, the Executive Director works in strong synergistic partnership with Artistic Director Emily Molnar to support the activities of the organization, fostering a collaborative environment in which the administrative and creative teams work effectively together to realize the Company’s ongoing, evolving vision of excellence.

COMPANY AUDITIONS

For the 2017–2018 Season, Ballet BC is looking for the following:
 
Full-time artists

Ballet BC is seeking experienced female and male dancers interested in a diverse collaborative environment that focuses on the innovation and creation of contemporary dance. The artist should display strong classical training, have experience in contemporary dance and a passion for the creative process.

Apprentices

Ballet BC is looking for talented, young female and male graduates who have completed a professional training program to join the Ballet BC Apprentice Program. The program will take place between July 2017 and June 2018 and will provide apprentices with a weekly honorarium.

Summer Dance Intensive

We are also looking for young, aspiring graduate students who have completed a professional training program to attend our International Summer Dance Intensive in collaboration with Arts Umbrella in August 2017.

Audition Requirements:

The audition will consist of ballet class and learning of company repertoire. Please bring CV and two photos (one headshot; one full-body dance). Women, please bring pointe shoes. Online registration encouraged, drop-ins also welcome.

Vancouver Auditions

Auditions are by appointment only. Please email a CV, photos, and video links to
auditions (at) balletbc.com.

CV: Including training, performance experience, full name, email address, phone number, and citizenship.

Photos: One head shot and one full-body dance photo.

Video: Link to high-quality stage or studio video, no more than 10 minutes in length, that displays a range of repertoire in contemporary ballet. Women should include use of pointe work.

We welcome and encourage dancers from across Canada.

Auditions take place at Scotiabank Dance Centre, 677 Davie Street.
