Membership

Ballet British Columbia has thrived since 1986, presenting both popular classics and original ballets to entertain and enlighten our audiences.  This has only been possible because of the visionary support of individual ballet lovers like you. 
With ticket sales covering less than half of the costs of maintaining and growing our professional ballet company, membership donations are critical, helping to support our artists and programs.

Stand tall and straight. Turn your feet out in a straight line. Keep your heels together.		First Position $50 - $79 Receive: a tax receipt; the Ballet BC Newsletter
Turn your feet out in a straight line. Heels are one and a half feet apart.		Second Position $80 - $149 Receive previous benefits plus: acknowledgement in Ballet BC house programs; an invitation or the annual Member Appreciation event
Turn your feet out and place one foot in front of the other. The heel of the front foot should touch the middle of the other foot.		Third Position $150 - $299 Receive the previous benefits plus: advance notice of special events
Turn your feet out and place one foot in front of the other, leaving a space in between place the heel of one foot in front of the toe of the other.		Fourth Position $300 - $499 Receive the previous benefits plus: a complimentary Ballet BC poster
Turn your feet out and place one foot in front of the other. The heel and toe of each foot should almost touch the heel and toe of the other. If you do this right, your feet will look as if they could fit, very neatly into a shoebox.		Fifth Position $500 - $999 Receive the previous benefits plus: an invitation to join us once during the season in the Founder’s Council Lounge

Here are some of the ways the gifts of our Members make a difference:

• $40 Supplies one-year of pointe shoe ribbon for one dancer
• $110 Pays for one-pair of custom pointe shoes
• $750 Pays for a portable dance barre
• $1,000 Brings our Ballet in the Schools program to disadvantaged schools
• $5,000 Supplies one-year of archival teaching video
• $12,000 Pays for a brand new Marley dance floor
