Alva Inger Armenta (She/Her) began training classical ballet and contemporary when she joined a small dance school in Seville at the age of eight. She joined Centro Andaluz de Danza when she reached high school—a pre-professional program specializing in classical and other dance techniques such as Limón, Release and Graham. Throughout these years Alva also attended dance intensives and participated in “Dancing with Bergman”, an internationally toured dance project where she was one of four dancers in a piece choreographed by Johan Inger. After graduating from high school, Alva moved to Canada to join the Arts Umbrella Post Secondary Program. After completing her second year in this program, Alva joined the NDT Summer Intensive, before heading back to Arts Umbrella to be part of “AU Tour”.
