Vice President Arlene Gladstone

Arlene is a retired social worker who for sixteen years was the Executive Director of Family Services of the North Shore. She has been active as a volunteer in many civic organizations including the Vancouver Foundation, the Jewish Community Federation of Greater Vancouver, the Vancouver Police Board and Temple Sholom Synagogue.

Arlene served on the board of the Vancouver Opera Association and as its Chair and subsequently as Chair of the Vancouver Opera Foundation.

Arlene was also the chair of the Steering Committee of the 2007 Canadian Arts Summit, a yearly gathering of leaders of Canada’s largest arts organizations and was a member of the advisory committee of in connection with the Canadian Opera Creation Fund.

In 2013, Arlene joined the board of directors of Saint James Music Academy which has been her principal volunteer focus ever since.

Arlene believes that the arts are essential to the vitality of our community and she is excited to be given an opportunity to contribute to the aspirations and vision of Ballet BC.
