Piper French (She/Her) is an emerging contemporary dance artist based in Vancouver, BC and a recent graduate of the Arts Umbrella Dance Diploma program under the directorship of Artemis Gordon. During her time with Arts Umbrella, Piper performed works by William Forsythe, Marco Goecke, Crystal Pite, Anne Plamondon and Paxton Ricketts. She trained under faculty members Reid Cumming, Sabra Perry and Lynn Shepard and participated in a collaboration with the Dutch National Ballet Academy, performing an excerpt of “The Seasons Canon” by Crystal Pite. Throughout her training, Piper is grateful to have received support from Jeff Mooney and Suzanne Bolton (Creative Launchpad Scholarship), The BC Arts Council, The McCall McBain Foundation, and Arts Umbrella.
