Dancers of Today is a Ballet BC scholarship program that provides greater access to dance education, with the ultimate goal of fostering a more equitable and diverse future in dance, and creating a path accessible to all communities to feed into our professional company.

The scholarship, supported by the Y.P. Heung Foundation, offers an aspiring dancer an opportunity to further their training through the Arts Umbrella Dance program, with preference given to applicants from underrepresented communities.

Successful candidates are all students aged 12 and above who exhibit talent and commitment to the field of dance. Ballet BC covers 100% of tuition and related fees for a minimum of one student to attend the dance program at Arts Umbrella for at least six years – a value of $11,000-$12,500 annually.

For the 2026/27 season, we are thrilled to announce the fourth recipient of the Dancers of Today Scholarship is dancer Jamarie William, who continues his training through the Arts Umbrella Dance Graduate program. Congratulations, Jamarie!
