Ballet BC is dedicated to the conversation, education and outreach to communities through dance.

The Artist Salon

Do you want to know more about creating dance, how choreographers make their work, and how an initial idea is shaped into a fully-realized production? Then join us for The Artist Salon. This intimate conversation will dive into the lives and minds of leading choreographers in contemporary dance today. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet the artists and discuss the creative spirit in motion.

Join us for an informal discussion with Artistic Director Emily Molnar and our collaborators; moderated by David Allison. Learn about how the artists develop a work and how it is then shaped from inception to production!

Performances in our Alternative Space Program

Through this program, we enable audiences to experience dance in more interactive settings. These shows are set in alternative spaces with the artists of Ballet BC working on improvisational and site-specific works in interdisciplinary spaces, giving the audience an intimate and experimental point of view into dance.

Live at the ‘Bolt – Small Stage with Ballet BC

The company dancers of Ballet BC and Small Stage Artistic associates team up for an amazing evening of dance. Join us as we walk around Deer Lake Park and see some amazing short works by some of Vancouver’s most talented dancers and choreographers.

Check back for more details.

Studio Visits, Open Houses and Sneak Previews

These are informal one-hour studio discussions and demonstrations open to the public and held throughout the season.  Introduced by the Artistic Director and featuring special guests, the presentations offer performance highlights in the intimacy of a rehearsal setting, and include a Q&A session. Attendees witness a part of the working day of the choreographer, dancers and rehearsal director in the intimate environment of the studio.
