Ainsley Nivens (she/her) is originally from Red Deer, Alberta. In 2019 she moved to Vancouver to pursue her training with Arts Umbrella in the Professional Dance Training Program. In 2022 she was accepted into Arts Umbrella’s Graduate Program where she continued her training under the direction of Artemis Gordon. During her time at Arts Umbrella, Ainsley had the privilege of performing works by choreographers including Crystal Pite, William Forsythe, Sharon Eyal, Marco Goecke, and Roy Assaf among many others. While at Arts Umbrella she also took part in the Young Choreographer Mentorship Program led by Crystal Pite, where she had the opportunity to broaden her artistic perspective. In her graduating year, Ainsley had the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam and work on a film project with Symphonic Cinema where she danced in the upcoming film “LOSS” starring Emma Thompson. Ainsley graduated from Arts Umbrella in May of 2025. She is thrilled to be joining Ballet BC Annex for the 2025/26 season!
