Louis Pineau (he/him) was born and raised in Tahiti, French Polynesia, before commencing his dance training at the Rosella Hightower school in Cannes, France at the age of 12. He later studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, from which he graduated with a focus in contemporary dance. He is currently continuing his artistic development through the post-secondary dance program at Arts Umbrella. Throughout his journey, Louis has had the privilege of both working with and performing works by renowned choreographers such as Crystal Pite, Felix Landerer, Aszure Barton, Astrid Boons, Lea Ved, Fernando Hernando Magadan; and has also performed pieces by Marco Goecke, William Forsythe, Trisha Brown, among others. Louis has likewise appeared on stages including Paris’ Grande Halle de La Villette, Théâtre National de Chaillot and Vancouver Playhouse. He also took part in the Young Choreographers Project, where he created a work under the mentorship of Crystal Pite. In the 2025/26 season, Louis will be joining the Ballet BC Annex and performing with AUtour Dance Company.
