Nathan Bear

Nathan Naknagim Douglas Bear (He/Him), from the Cree, Okanagan and Laichwiltach First Nations, started dancing at the age of four in ballet and tap. At the age of 14, they made the decision to pursue dance more seriously, training in multiple genres at Fusion Force Dance Studio in Langley, BC. At the age of 17, Nathan transferred to a pre-professional program, putting a heavier focus on technique as well as overall versatility in ballet and contemporary at Tri City Dance Centre. During his graduation year Nathan was honoured to be accepted into the Arts Umbrella Graduate Program. Since then, he has attended intensives with Arts Umbrella’s ISDI and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Nathan is the first ever recipient of Ballet BC’s Dancers of Today Scholarship.
