On May 27 + 28 2023, Ballet BC is opening its doors to visitors of all ages for two full days of events and activities. Explore and experience the inspiring, newly renovated environment of one of the world’s leading contemporary dance companies while learning about its inner workings.

Be one of the first to take a behind-the-scenes look at our four light-filled dance studios. See our extraordinary company artists in their daily environment, with an opportunity to watch class, rehearsals, and performances. Register for classes ranging from ballet to contemporary to yoga. Plus, hear what it takes to put world-class dance performances on stage, from programming to marketing to wardrobe and production elements like lighting and set design from the experts themselves.

This is a unique opportunity to view company class featuring Ballet BC artists, get an insider’s look at the rehearsal process, and watch short performances of Ballet BC repertoire in newly renovated studios. Access is first-come, first-served; no pre-registration required.

Led by Ballet BC Manager of Outreach + Engagement Heather Myers, this in-depth experience offers various entry points for cultivating your own artistic relationship to the company’s vision and values. Specifically designed somatic and creative movement prompts, interpretive drawing, writing and sharing activities invite you to explore creativity and the arts in a supportive group setting. Take-home art supplies provided by Opus Art Supplies.
