View company class on stage at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Saturday, November 8 during our season-opening run of TRILOGY.
Company class is a meaningful daily ritual for professional dancers around the world, allowing for connection with the body and exploration of technical foundation before a day of rehearsals or performance. Dancers begin with exercises at the barre, then move to the centre for exercises across the floor, and class ends with jumps—each exercise exploring areas such as precision, balance, strength, and musicality. It’s both a physical and mental practice, grounding dancers in discipline while freeing them to express themselves through individual interpretation. Joining our Ballet BC dancers will be 30 additional artists from Arts Umbrella Dance who will perform as part of BOLERO X at TRILOGY.
For the first time, we are inviting the general public to view class ahead of our first-ever matinee performance. Class will be led by Ballet BC’s Katherine Cowie with live accompaniment by Dr. Alex Tsisserev. All tickets are $15 and general admission; seats in the orchestra will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
It promises to be a fun class, and a rare opportunity to peek behind the curtain. We look forward to welcoming you!
