Marcos Marqueta was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. He began dancing at the age of seven at Escola de Ballet Lolita Vilalta, while also performing and competing nationally and internationally with Tour Jove Ballet. In 2020, Marcos began training professionally at IEA Oriol Martorell in Barcelona, and later attended the European School of Ballet in Amsterdam in 2023, where he had the opportunity to perform pieces by Goyo Montero, Maurice Causey, Macarena González and August Bournonville, and rehearse the repertoire of William Forsythe, Crystal Pite, Marco Goecke, Akram Khan and David Dawson.
Marcos has participated in several prestigious summer intensives, including those at Nederlands Dans Theater, Paris Opera Ballet School, Royal Ballet School, and Royal Danish Ballet. In August 2025, Marcos began his professional career with Opera Wroclawska as a member of the Corps de Ballet. Since then, he has had the privilege to perform works by acclaimed choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Rafael Bonachela, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and Małgorzata Dzierżon. This is Marcos’ first season with Ballet BC.
