Alexis and Gilbert are Dancing on the Edge!

Ballet BC dancer Alexis Fletcher didn’t have much downtime during our summer break. She has created a solo piece, Altar’d, which is set to premiere at the InFrinGinG Festival this weekend in Nanaimo! Alexis is originally from Vancouver Island and is thrilled to be able to present her own work so close to home. If you are on the island or looking for a reason to get away for the weekend, make sure to catch Alexis’ work at the Port Theatre on July 9th. If you can’t get away from Vancouver this weekend, you can also see Altar’d as part of Dancing On The Edge, July 12th and 14th at the Firehall Arts Centre.

Also, Gilbert Small will be interpreting a previously existing solo danced by Vancouver dancemaker Jennifer Mascall. We are looking forward to being in the audience for a change to watch our beautiful colleagues onstage. Gilbert performs this weekend, July 7-9, with MascallDance at St. Pauls.

Check out MascallDance’s website for more info on the evening of solos:
