ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Ballet BC’s Spring Intensive offers a four-day intensive of skills-based classes designed to offer participants a deep dive into the practice of contemporary dance. Participants will work closely with a faculty of Ballet BC dancers and guest artists, and engage with solo material drawn from the company’s acclaimed repertoire, offering a rare opportunity to explore the distinctive choreographic languages that define Ballet BC.

WHO IS THE SPRING INTENSIVE FOR?

The Ballet BC Spring Intensive is for those who are eager to refine and develop specific skills required in a professional dance company setting, including improvisational techniques and fluidity in floor work.

ADMISSION

In order to be considered for the Ballet BC Spring Intensive, we ask that you submit a video audition. The video should contain your own improvisation showcasing a number of contrasting styles, between 90 and 120 seconds long.

The deadline to submit auditions for Ballet BC Spring Intensive will be announced in Fall 2026.

There is no audition fee.

VENUE

Ballet BC’s beautiful 18,000 sq ft home on Vancouver’s Granville Island, the city’s premier arts and culture community located on the water at False Creek in the heart of the city.

ACCOMMODATION

Options for accommodations will be provided upon acceptance into the program, however, participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation while in Vancouver.

FACULTY

Ballet BC Spring Intensive faculty will be announced in Winter 2027.

COST

Tuition for enrollment in the Spring Intensive is $875 + GST.
