Originally from Scotland, Alice has lived in Italy, England and the United States before landing in Canada where she is very grateful to live and work as an uninvited guest on the beautiful traditional, ancestral and unceded land of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). Alice is the Executive Director of Ethics at the Provincial Health Service Authority and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia. A lover of learning, Alice has three masters degrees and a PhD. She is a respected and sought-after educator and mentor in ethics-related topics with regular invitations to teach and conduct research on a local, provincial and national levels.
Alice has engaged in appreciating various forms of art and dance at every step of her journey and loves the joy, connection, emotion and energy dance brings to all aspects of life. She is a passionate advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion in the arts and society more broadly and enjoys a lifelong journey of cultural humility and learning. She feels privileged to share her experiences and support the transformative power of dance through Ballet BC.
