Director Janelle Dwyer

Janelle is a lawyer at Mandell Pinder LLP, a Vancouver law firm focused on Aboriginal law. In her legal practice, she works primarily for First Nations governments and their affiliates. She advises on business and governance matters related to land, corporate and commercial transactions. She has been selected multiple times by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Canada™ – in the field of Aboriginal Law / Indigenous Practice.

Janelle came to Ballet BC after serving as a provincially appointed director at Langara College for six years, where she spent several of those years as chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee. In the past, she has also served as a director of the Vancouver not-for-profit housing society, Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society, and worked in communications at the Royal BC Museum and the Victoria Friendship Centre.

Janelle is a member of the Splatsin First Nation and she has been proudly serving First Nations since the mid-90’s. Janelle has grown up in and around the performing arts, and is thrilled to be part of the Ballet BC leadership team. She has been a dedicated season ticket holder at Ballet BC for many years, and consistently supports local Vancouver arts organizations.
