Rachel Lui (she/her) grew up in Richmond, B.C. Her early dance education started at Defy Gravity Dance, where she engaged in competitive dance and formal training in the Cecchetti Ballet method. Rachel is a recent graduate of Modus Operandi Contemporary Dance Training Program under the direction of Tiffany Tregarthen, David Raymond, Kate Franklin and Maiko Miyauchi. At MO, Rachel performed works by Out Innerspace Dance Theatre, Spenser Theberge, Yin Yue and Yi Chun, among others. She furthered her dance education by partaking in Dance//Novella’s Emerging Artist program, performing their work Chrysalis at the Polygon Gallery and for International Dance Day at Scotiabank Dance Centre. Rachel has had the pleasure of dancing at Vines Arts Festival, performing a collaborative work by Bryn Bridgen and Linnea Goldstrom. Rachel continues her education at the University of British Columbia, studying Art History and is thrilled to participate in Ballet BC Annex for the 2025/26 season!
