Annex Dancer Shea Bridgen

Shea Bridgen (she/her) is a Kwakwa̱ka̱’wakw and Coast Salish contemporary dance artist from K’ómoks First Nation. Based in Vancouver, she is currently in her fourth year of training at Modus Operandi under the direction of Tiffany Tregarthen, David Raymond, Kate Franklin, and Maiko Miyauchi.

Through her training Shea has performed creations by Ella Rothschild, Adam Khazmakov, Out Innerspace, Vanessa Goodman, Anne Plamondon, Mariko Kakizaki, Yi-Chun Liu, and other established choreographers. Her training has also included workshops and creative research with artists including Jermaine Spivey, Spenser Théberge, Gregory Lau, and other international dance makers. Through Modus Operandi, Shea has performed in Vancouver International Dance Festival and Dancing on the Edge Festival.

Shea has further expanded her practice through Dance//Novella’s DUAL IMMERSION under the mentorship of Brandon Lee Alley and Racheal Prince. She has also performed in Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week and the JUNO Awards Canada, contributing to a practice rooted in collaboration, performance, and culture. Shea is extremely excited to be joining Ballet BC Annex for the 2026/27 season.
