Ballet BC partners with Contemporary Art Gallery to bring innovative dance + visual art hybrid to life.
We’re creating a collaborative cross-disciplinary piece with the Vancouver Contemporary Art Gallery (CAG) – combining contemporary dance and visual art, created by international artists of significance.
CAG is commissioning British visual artists John Wood and Paul Harrison to team with Emily Molnar and the dancers of Ballet BC. During an intensive creation period, these artists will collaborate on an original 10 minute site specific work that will premiere in Vancouver in 2016 and become part of Ballet BC’s community outreach programming while on tour.
This ambitious project requires support from diverse sources and Kickstarter contributions are just one way we’re going to get this immense project off the ground.
The catch: in order to receive the $25,000 sought through Kickstarter, Ballet BC and CAG must raise the full amount in order for the project to be funded.

NEWS: The Ballet BC + CAG partnership has already received support from Art Basel! Selected by an independent jury for Art Basel’s curated support page on Kickstarter, this project is already generating buzz in the international arts scene.
Note: All Kickstarter funds go directly toward this project, so you will be supporting the initiative, not the individual institutions.
