Silent Tides
Medhi Walerski
“Walerski surpasses himself as a choreographer with this gossamer play between delay and acceleration, stop and start, grab and miss”
– de Volkskrant
Following the success of just BEFORE right AFTER, the first new creation from Medhi Walerski as Ballet BC Artistic Director, comes the North American premiere of Silent Tides. Set to an original composition by Adrien Cronet as well as music by Bach, Silent Tides is an intimate work for two dancers that reflects our relationship to one another and to ourselves—the infinite gates where our bodies receive nourishment and otherness, vibration and energy. Touch, time, eternity, love, death, infinity, low tides, high tides.
Please note Silent Tides contains partial nudity.

Imre and Marne van Opstal
“Honest, sensitive and versatile, with an emphasis on the earthy and whimsical” – Trouw
Dutch artist duo and siblings Imre and Marne van Opstal make their Ballet BC debut with a new commission and co-production with Helsinki-based Tero Saarinen Company. Following successful careers as dance artists with NDT 1 & 2 and Batsheva Dance Company, the van Opstals’ choreographic work often speaks to the limits and possibilities of the body and mind. This exciting international collaboration will explore themes of love, connection and pleasure, as well as the stigmas and moral taboos that exist within.
Heart Drive will feature guest artist Chloé Albaret.

Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar
“Mesmerizing, mysterious, gorgeous” – Times Union
Audience favourite Bedroom Folk, from Israeli creative duo Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, returns to the Ballet BC stage. A signature piece from the company’s touring repertoire, Bedroom Folk’s movement language is pulsing, punchy, and intensely cool. A house beat runs through a strikingly lit space as dancers move in hypnotic synchronicity, showcasing the bold and visionary choreography of two acclaimed international collaborators.
